Michael B. Abbott
Mike Abbott is a shareholder of the firm whose practice emphasizes many areas of corporate and finance law, including mergers and acquisitions, financial institutions, venture capital and private equity, emerging companies/startups, commercial and investment debt facilities, and corporate bankruptcy matters.
Mr. Abbott joined the firm in 2005 after completing a joint JD/MBA degree program at the University of Iowa. While he was a student at the University of Iowa School of Law, Mr. Abbott was an Articles Editor of the Journal of Corporation Law and a University of Iowa College of Law Merit Scholar. Mr. Abbott was also a Vice President for the MBA Association and served as a teaching assistant for the business school's course in Law and Ethics in Management from August 2002 to May 2003.
Mr. Abbott served as a student law clerk to the Hon. Paul J. Kilburg, Chief Bankruptcy Judge of the Northern District of Iowa during the Spring of 2005.
