DIVERSITY POLICY

Belin Lamson McCormick Zumbach Flynn is strongly committed to diversity in our firm.  This commitment benefits our clients, our employees, and our community.  We recognize how important diversity is for our firm’s long-term success and appreciate the tremendous value we gain from the contributions of persons from diverse backgrounds.  When our attorneys bring a variety of perspectives to the table, more creative ideas are produced and better decisions made.

Our firm is dedicated to attracting smart, talented people from diverse backgrounds through our recruiting and hiring practices.  We aim to increase the representation of women, minorities, and members of other underrepresented groups at our firm.  Once attorneys join us, we work hard to retain them by enabling them to balance work and family obligations.

Our devotion to the ideals of diversity stretches beyond the walls of our offices.  We feel a responsibility to get involved in our community by encouraging our attorneys to volunteer their time to as leaders.  One of our attorneys was recently appointed by Iowa’s Governor to serve a term as a member of the Iowa Latino Affairs Commission.  In addition, one of our attorneys serves as a Director and Secretary of the Iowa Asian Alliance.

We realize that we must be vigilant in our efforts to achieve diversity.  We pledge to continue fostering a respectful, welcoming community for persons of all backgrounds.
